Why Choose Western Veterinary Center?

At Western Veterinary Center, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care for your pets, guided by our unwavering commitment to the highest standards in veterinary medicine. We are proud to operate as a privately owned practice, which allows us the flexibility to offer cutting-edge treatments and make decisions in the best interest of your pets, without the constraints of corporate approval. Our team is passionate about delivering compassionate, personalized care, and we continually strive to meet and exceed industry standards to ensure your pet’s well-being.

We are AAHA Accredited – A Commitment to Excellence

We are honored to hold accreditation from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), a prestigious nonprofit organization that sets the benchmark for veterinary excellence across the United States and Canada. Achieving AAHA accreditation is a rigorous process, with extremely high standards of 900 topics covering all aspects of veterinary care. These include everything from patient care and surgery to anesthesia, pain management, continuing education on the ever evolving knowledge of medicine, support staff mental health, record-keeping and more.

While accreditation is voluntary, we pursue it because it reflects our dedication to providing the best possible care for your pets. Only about 12% of veterinary practices in North America and only 6% in the state of California achieve AAHA accreditation, and we are proud to be part of this elite group, demonstrating our commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in all areas of our practice.

What Does AAHA Accreditation Mean for Your Pet’s Care?

As an AAHA-accredited practice, we adhere to the most stringent protocols for patient care and practice management. This accreditation serves as a mark of trust and excellence, offering you the peace of mind that your pet is receiving the highest standard of care. Here’s how we uphold AAHA standards:

Comprehensive Patient Care

Pain Management: We understand how distressing it can be to see your pet in pain, and we prioritize their comfort. Our pain management strategies are designed to ensure that your pet receives the most effective and compassionate care during treatment and recovery.

Anesthesia and Surgery: We exceed AAHA's best practices for anesthesia, ensuring the safest procedures possible for your pet. Our skilled surgical team leads the highest standard of strict protocols for monitoring and post-surgical care to promote a swift recovery.

Emergency Care: Our facility is equipped to handle urgent and critical situations with state-of-the-art equipment and an experienced and dedicated team ready to respond at a moment’s notice.

State-of-the-Art Facilities and Equipment

Our practice is equipped with the latest veterinary technology to help us diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions, from routine exams to advanced surgeries and emergency care. We follow above AAHA standards of cleanliness and sterilization protocols (and that is hard to do!), ensuring that every surface and tool in our practice is sanitized to be beyond AAHA standards.

Wellness and Preventive Care

We offer comprehensive wellness packages to help keep your pet healthy and happy throughout their life. Our preventive care services include vaccinations, dental health assessments, nutritional counseling, and health screenings to catch potential issues before they become serious problems.

Ongoing Education

The veterinary field is constantly evolving, and our team is committed to staying ahead of the curve. AAHA-accredited practices like ours are required to complete regular continuing education to ensure we remain up-to-date on the latest advances in veterinary medicine. This ongoing learning allows us to provide your pet with the most effective and modern treatments available.
